Simple Views
The application displays all information in an easy to view and easy to access manner on the main screen. Core class information (title, location, lecturer, time) can be seen by hovering over any class. Clicking a class will display complete details (all attendees and so on).
Easy Rescheduling
A scheduled class can be rescheduled by dragging it to a new time. This will change the date and time for the class and optionally send an email or SMS to all people who are attending that class. This provides easy communication of a schedule change at short notice and to all affected parties.
Conflict Highlighting
When managing a complex schedule it can be quite difficult to watch for all the possible conflicts that can occur (for example, two classes at the same location, people scheduled to more than one location at a time, too many people for the scheduled rooms capacity and so on). The system continuously checks for and warns of all these conflicting situations, highlighting any class that is conflicted with a warning icon on the schedule view.
Easy Communications
You can right click any class and choose to directly communicate with the attendees via either SMS text message or email. This allows for easy ad-hoc communication with all attendees.
Detailed Reports
Action Point’s Scheduler tracks attendance records for everyone and supports an hourly costing for all attendees. This information enables you to easily track the cost per staff member and per type of session (e.g. Lectures versus Labs). Student attendance can also be tracked by the system.
Email Reminders
Automatically send reminder emails to external lecturers to ensure they know of their upcoming lecture, and that they remember to bring along any supporting material such as lecture notes for the students.
The system can also be used to inform them of travel directions, parking arrangements, room location and even expense claim forms.
Compliments existing Central Schedulers
Some institutions already have a central scheduling application that allocates resources to each department. In this case, Action Point’s scheduler can act as a layer on top.
Available rooms are imported from the central scheduler and can be allocated as per the requirements of each course and module that the department must run.
